Comedy Club 4 Kids wins an Edinburgh Comedy Award

Yes! Here’s a tip for any budding new comedians out there. The key way to win an Edinburgh Comedy Award is to run a company for 20 years until they’re forced to give in and accept you do nice things. I had a lovely surprise on Friday when I heard the Victoria Wood Edinburgh Comedy Award had been awarded to CC4K. Of course this happens in the year I’m not at the fringe! I had to scramble to get last minute flights and head to Scotland to join my colleague Isabelle as we collected the award.

Big shout out to the excellent Sam Nicoresti who won Best Show and Ayoada Bamgboye who won Best Newcomer. And of course, massive thanks to everyone who has worked with us over the last 20 years, to James Campbell for starting it in the first place, Mark Makin for booking us in loads of gigs and very big thanks to Melissa O’Brien who runs CC4K with us but couldn’t be there as she lives in Australia now.
